Jeremy Smith is a percussive artist whose unique versatility allows him to move seamlessly among numerous musical worlds. While the foundation of his playing comes from his classical training at Juilliard, his interests lie in the vast array of modern and folkloric percussion traditions from around the world such as those found in South America, Africa, India, the Middle East, and jazz. He was invited to the International Percussion Festival in Seoul, South Korea as a solo world percussion concert artist in 2016. As a specialist of Venezuelan maracas, he has performed with Latin Grammy nominee Luisito Quintero, Gerardo Contino y Los Habaneros, Los Crema Paraiso, Juancho Herrera, and more. He is a member of the Boston-based quintet Mr. Ho’s Orchestrotica as well as the innovative Middle Eastern music group Brooklyn Nomads led by oudist Hadi Eldebek. Jeremy is a freelance artist based in New York City. He received his Bachelor of Music degree from The Juilliard School.
